Corrosive environmental
conditions are simulated in four different chambers with close controls on
variables such as exposure time, temperature, and concentration. Plated,
painted, or other chemically processed specimens are exposed to atmospheres
such as 5% or 20% salt fog, copper-accelerated acetic acid-salt spray
(CASS), and synthetic sea water.
Additional services offered include
testing of wear resistance using Tabar abrasion equipment, impact testing of
painted surfaces, non-destructive coating thickness measurements, coating
weight determinations, and other special processes as required.
