The chemical analysis of metallic materials is accomplished using both wet and instrumentation methods. Our equipment includes 2 vacuum emission spectrographs, and a 3 meter air path optical emission spectrograph, a universal X-Ray spectrograph, ICP Plasma Emission System, and an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. These units, in conjunction with a wide variety of standard reference materials, insure accurate analysis of all alloys used in commercial, industrial, and aerospace applications.
Oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and carbon analyses are determined using the Leco Inert Gas Fusion (oxygen), Leco Hot Extraction (hydrogen), the Micro-Kjeldahl (nitrogen), and Leco Carbon Analyzer methods. The Leco combustion unit is used for determining carbon and sulfer contents.
Wet chemical capabilities include the analysis of industrial wastewater, magnetic particle solutions, fluorescent penetrant oils, and various types of industrial plating and cleaning solutions.
